Home2Rome Rally

EngineerAid

Event date:  2007-09-22 17:04:58

EngineerAid volunteer, Mark-Paul Buckingham, is undertaking a fundraising rally across Europe - here''s what he has to say:
For the unfortunate among us that know them, James Peckitt, Rupert Williams and myself will be participating in the Home2Rome rally. It is a little jaunt which takes a banger worth less than £100 from Calais to Rome some 1400miles (yes that's miles).
Teams are encouraged to get sponsorship so that we can feel better about our purposeful damage to the environment.
As EngineerAid is clearly the best charity (especially for the engineering minded) we have chosen to get them some much needed cash. We are donating a tired BMW to the cause our own engineering genius to ensure she makes it.
Please support this worthy cause by making donations here. Our target is double the estimated fuel bill for the journey - a mere £800. So with that in mind please make donations. We recommend a minimum of £1 per country the car will go through – that should be Scotland, England, France, Switzerland and Italy (assuming we don't get lost and end up in Lichtenstein). However, if you have recently won the lottery or are called Richard Branson we will gladly accept more. Details of donations are posted below.
You can see the teams details on http://www.home2rome.com
Wish us luck and thank you very much, \r\nMark-Paul
